Life Legacy


Dorothy Elizabeth Reiplinger Vance died peacefully after a short illness on January 17, 2006.

She was preceded in death by her husband, David Milton Vance, and three of her four sisters, LaRene Reiplinger Zeller, Nell Reiplinger Braubach, and Jane Reiplinger Raeke.

Mrs. Vance was born in Waco, Texas on April 5, 1910. She is survived by her sons David Milton Vance Jr. of Dallas, James Reiplinger Vance and wife Mary C. Vance of Austin, and John Barrington Vance of Greenville, South Carolina; one sister, June Reiplinger Shelton of The Woodlands; three grandchildren, Mary Elizabeth Daniels, James Milton Vance, and John Franklin Vance; and four great grandchildren, Katie and Alyeska Daniels, Rebecca Vance, and baby Vance due in March. Mrs. Vance was a member and Elder of Beacon Hill Presbyterian Church, and a member of the Alamo Mission Chapter of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas and the San Antonio de Bexar Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
