Meeting Ivy Andrews - February 11, 2012
Posted: February 11, 2012 | Last Revised: February 11, 2012
When my husband and I were recent residents of San Antonio, and after he passed away, one of my daughters and her family were being transferred to Germany leaving me in San Antonio with no family living here. We were at church in sunday school and my daughter asked if someone in the class would be a friend to me (her Moother) since she was leaving town. Ivy was the one who filled this request and became a friend to me. She sponsored me on my Emmaus Journey and allowed me to join her Thursday Night group.
She and I have had some fun, some crying times and a lot of good times together.
We felt adventurous and caused quite a stir when we decided that we would get into the car and make a 17 State sight seeing trip. The two "old ladies" had a ball on our 17 State, "Thelma and Louise Trip".
There have been lots of family get togethers and I am appreciative that I was included as Ivy's friend.
On this trip, she left ahead of me, but I know she has sailed across the horizon into God's open arms.
I'll miss you "Louise".
