Memories of Uncle Dale - January 15, 2012
Posted: January 15, 2012 | Last Revised: January 15, 2012

I cannot think of one particular memory that sticks out but what I remember the most was all the fun times the Sherrod family had at our family reunions, we would laugh, listen to the brothers and sisters tell stories on each other and didn't know whether to believe them or not! The Sherrod family was such a loving and caring family and oh how they loved to joke with one another. Unlce Dale lived with my mother and daddy for a period of time and I can recall many numerous stories of how they always went to watch Uncle Dale play football while he was in College and I guess that is one reason I am such an OU fan, it was in my blood. There is one thing I must say about my Uncle Dale was he was right there with me and mother when we needed him the most and that was on December 14, 1997 when my daddy, Richard, passed away. Uncle Dale and Aunt Dian and Angela came up on Thursday and Aunt Dian went with mother and I to make my dad's funeral arrangements because we knew time was drawing to a close. I will forever be indebted to Uncle Dale and Aunt Dian for all they did for mother and I to help us during our time of loss. My daddy died on Angela's birthday and we buried my daddy on Uncle Dale's birthday. Unlce Dale, you were more than a hero for our Country, you were my Hero in many ways you never new. I love you and will miss you until we meet again.
