Life Legacy
Lilo Goldman, age 89, passed away on Sunday, February 26, with her family by her side. Lilo was born in Nuremburg, Germany to Albert and Irma Silberthau on August 24, 1922. Lilo came to America in 1938 with her parents and younger brother to escape Nazi Germany. She met the love of her life, Sam Goldman, and they married in 1946 in New York. They raised their two children in Brooklyn, New York. Lilo and Sam ran the Town Store in Schroon Lake, New York from 1974-1994. After many years of hard work at their store, they retired to Yuma, Arizona and traveled together around the country in their motor home. Lilo was a caring, generous lady who cherished her family and friends. She always enjoyed a good meal, especially coffee and dessert. Lilo loved to be in the water and was an avid water skier and then ski coach for her grandchildren. More recently, Lilo regularly enjoyed water aerobics at the Concord Athletic Club. Lilo dearly loved animals, especially cats. Her warm sense of humor, tenacity, wisdom and strong morals will never be forgotten. Lilo is survived by her son, Larry J. Goldman and his wife Ilene; daughter, Gwen Farnsworth and her husband Stanley; grandchildren, Robin Schuler and her husband, Paul; Amy Goldman and her fiancé, David Rahmani; Sean Conlon; and Brian Conlon.
