I will miss you terribly Ray. High school was fun, but meeting later on was wonderful for both of us.

Uncle Ray and Aunt Mary were always my favorites. In 1995, Ray and I spent Thanksgiving weekend in Dallas. We watched the Cowboys defeat the Chiefs on Thanksgiving and I will always cherish that weekend together. I never met a more cheerful man or someone who liked a good joke more than Ray. I loved him and will miss him greatly.

I came to San Antonio in 1979 and worked with Ray numerous times. The work he did on the Bejing Hotel was amazing. I had the utmost respect for him, and meeting him on the first project I worked on after coming to San Antonio was not only a treat but gave me a friend for life.

In life you meet many people and a few live up to and exceed your expectations............he was such a person.

I didn't know Ray very well, but my aunt (Joy) is (was) his sister. I am very impressed with all the accomplishments Ray achieved. My prayers are with his family and friends during this difficult time. Knowing he is with God in Heaven living in peace with no suffering should bring comfort to his family.

I have always enjoyed our many calls and visits over the years. My last visit with him recently in Dallas will always be a special memory for me. He reminded me of my father and he was a very interesting man. I know my father loved our cousin as I did. I will always treasure my memories of him especially at the World's Fair in San Antonio.

Ray was my mentor in the early 70s when I completed my E.I.T. and got registered. His philosophy of "can do" and respect/response to clients has been a guiding light. Always smiling, always positive, he and his firm were at the leading edge of structural engineering in San Antonio. As a grad student I had worked with him on the Tower of the Americas where I was inspired by his approach to the problems that invariably occur during construction. I will always treasure the lessons and examples he taught me. May he rest in peace. God bless.

My deepest sympathy to the family. Mr Pinnell was the kindest and sweetest man. He and I
would meet at the mailbox and chat. May he
rest in Peace.

Phyllis and I applaud the life of Ray Pinnell, Jr. We have known him and Mary during his entire professional life admiring his oustanding engineering skill and unwavering integrity while enjoying the priviledge of calling him our friend. Ray your legacy is a challenge to engineers that will follow you.

Dear Pinnell Family,

Please accept my deepest sympathies on the loss of your beloved. There are never any right words to express how deeply sad I am for the pain your family is enduring at this difficult time.

As Chair of the Senate Committee on Veteran Affairs and Military Installations, I am sincerely thankful for his valiant service in defense of our rights and freedom.

His commitment to family, friends, our community, and to serving our great nation leaves a wonderful legacy. May the love and the wonderful memories you shared with him help you when you need it most. He will never be forgotten, and your family will be remembered in my prayers.
